Taking things alfresco in the summer months, diners can opt to eat outside on the feasting deck, where the talented team of chefs will prepare a fish-inspired feast in their wood-fired ovens.
3. Purslane
Specialising in sustainably-sourced seafood, Purslane is a stunning family-run restaurant nestled in the heart of Cheltenham.
Combining seafood and fish that is only handline and net-caught off the coast of the UK, with seasonal and mainly local produce, the restaurant changes its a la carte menu monthly, promising a real treat for the taste buds with any of its courses.
Expect incredible dishes such as Oban scallops; Cornish hake with hen crab claw; and Cornish ling served up with roasted red pepper, tempura courgette and sour cream.
4. Williams Food Hall & Oyster Bar
Earning its name locally for its gastronomic gems, Williams Food Hall and Oyster Bar in Nailsworth sources nearly all of its fish and seafood from UK coast lines. Pairing together a glass of bubbly and a serving of oysters, the eatery is a must visit for fish fans.
Culinary highlights from the menu include pearl rock oysters, perfectly-seared scallop chunks, and delectable dishes including Catalan fish stew finished with chorizo and samphire.
5. Simpsons Fish & Chips
Frying up feverously good fish and chips in Stroud and Cheltenham, it’s no wonder that Simpsons has a host of awards under its belt, and although it’s not fine dining, the eatery has definitely earned its place in our round up of the best places for flavoursome fish.

Nestled on the quaint streets of Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, The Old Butchers specialises in seafood, with its enticing menu serving the very best that the ocean has to offer.
Feverously good fish dishes include the likes of Cornish mussels marinière, grilled Cornish dover sole, and smoked eel, with the menu changing daily to use only the best produce.
8. The Barn at Severn & Wye
Priding itself on honing the art of smoking the finest fish from Rivers Severn and Wye, Severn & Wye near Gloucester has been a huge hit with diners since opening its stylish new premise and restaurant, The Barn at Severn & Wye.
Expect seasonal dishes in the restaurant including Severn & Wye seabass, local elvers, hot smoked salmon, and grilled oysters. Offering a whole plethora of seafood selections, the colourful fish counter is also a great spot for picking up some of the finest produce around.
9. Russell's Fish and Chips
