THE PIG near Cirencester

One of the most anticipated new hotels to open in Gloucestershire, taking over the former Barnsley House near Cirencester, THE PIG opened its doors this September 2024.

From humble beginnings along the south coast, the brand has now grown to nine hotels in total. Offering an abundance of character, the 17th century Cotswold gem has 20 bedrooms — plus six more up the road at its first ever village pub — and plans to add four more bedrooms this October 2024.

Flipside Burgers in Stow-on-the-Wold

The ultimate meaty indulgence, Stow-on-the-Wold's foodies can now sink their teeth into the renowned gastro burgers from the team behind cult Broadway restaurant, Flipside Burgers, as it opened its second venue and first in Gloucestershire this September 2024.

Long celebrated for its creative flavours and huge 7oz Herefordshire beef burgers, Flipside offers up flipping good hamburger options such as The Big Cheese with double Monterey Jack cheese; Pull a Porky complete with pulled pork; and Flipping Massive for those looking to load up on double the patties with a whopping two 7oz burgers.

Berghaus at Gloucester Quays

British outdoor clothing and accessories brand Berghaus opened its new store at Gloucester Quays in September 2024.

The brand's second standalone shop in the UK, the new Berghaus store caters for a range of outdoor activities including walking, mountaineering and climbing, with a wide selection of clothing, footwear and equipment for both men and women.

The Wheelhouse co-working office at Elkstone Studios

Providing space for work-from-homers, hybrid teams, freelancers and start-ups to 'flourish not wilt', The Wheelhouse launched its latest co-working office at the stunning Elkstone Studios this month — with easy access to shops for lunch and coffee, as well as free parking and unlimited use of the on-site gym.

Choose from hot desks, private call pods and a meeting room in light-filled converted barns to set up for the day, each with access to a kitchenette. Bright and generous in size, the offices have been thoughtfully designed and curated in collaboration with The Wheelhouse, a business on a mission to boost co-working space around the country, offering simple, good-quality business services.

Krispy Kreme at Gloucester Quays

Gloucester Quays welcomed the original glazed doughnut brand, Krispy Kreme, this September 2024. 

Visitors can grab a variety of favourite and limited-edition treats from the kiosk including Raspberry Glazed, Lotus Biscoff, Strawberries & Kreme, Chocolate Sprinkles and more. 

Menkind in Cheltenham

Menkind's latest one-stop shop for gadgets, gifts and 'all things fun' opened at Cheltenham's Brewery Quarter this September 2024.

The newest store from the leading UK retailer specialises in quirky gifts and gadgets offering shoppers items ranging from food and drink to gaming tech.
