The newest foodie venture from restaurant group JM Socials, Jai Ho opened in Bishop's Cleeve this January 2025 — serving up Indian barbecue plates, traditional Chai and 'no fuss, just good vibes.'
Diners can expect dishes such as crispy fried okra, chilli chicken, barbecue butter chicken wings and Wagyu sheekh kebabs; as well as masala lamb chops and tandoori masala chicken on the bone; alongside other flavourful mains such as beef and murgh biryanis; and warming curries with cod, vegetables, beef and more.
The Tavern Cheltenham
Cheltenham's The Tavern pub and restaurant launched with a new owner at the helm, this January 2025.
Along with cosy red leather booth style seating, candles, games and an open kitchen, there's a new Chef's Table menu featuring deep fried olives, anchovies on toast, spam fritters, fried hake tacos, buffalo wings and French dip sandwiches among other tasty morsels; while the traditional menu includes burgers, chicken, fish dishes and sandwiches. There are steaks on offer too, alongside small plates and bar snacks.
WSP Solicitors in Gloucester
Law firm, WSP Solicitors has opened a new Gloucester office this January 2025, as the firm cements its goal to be one of the leading legal service providers in Gloucestershire.
The move reflects growing demand for its services including specialist areas such as out-of-court family law and mediation, child law, wills and probate, and corporate law.
Bombay Street Food Co at Dunkertons in Cheltenham
Gloucestershire foodies with a taste for spice have a brand-new dining destination to try, with Bombay Street Food Company taking up residency at Dunkertons in Cheltenham.
Now open, the venue offers a menu of thoughtfully reimagined classics with a modern flair, seven days a week. Diners can expect breakfasts including dosa — a thin, savoury pancake made from a fermented batter of ground black gram and rice; and smoked salmon khichdi — yellow lentils and rice porridge, with poached eggs and smoked salmon.
Kinn Kinn at Gloucester Food Dock
Adding to the already rich foodie scene, popular Thai street food firm Kinn Kinn from Newport Food Court in Newport Market has joined the lineup at Gloucester Food Dock this month.
Inspired by passionate Thai chef roots and founder Gena Dyer's culinary adventures, the menu features vibrant, fresh, and spicy flavours with traditional favourites such as Pad Thai and Thai Green Curry. It also features Gena’s signature dishes including Moo Ping — grilled BBQ pork skewers as well as Kinn Kinn’s own ‘Falling Angel Chilli Beer’.
Leisure at Cheltenham
To welcome the new year, Leisure at Cheltenham, reopened its gym in January with new open spaces and equipment to help you smash your 2025 fitness goals.
On a mission to improve visitor experience, the leisure centre, which is managed by the Cheltenham Trust, has worked with Cheltenham Borough Council to completely refit its gym facilities and create a 'fresh, modern fitness suite' for members. Gymgoers can try out new features like its sled-track, boxing zones and get to grips with the shiny TRX stations.
