River Shack in Bourton-on-the-Water

Nestled on the serene banks of the River Windrush, Bakery on the Water revealed the opening of its new outdoor riverside terrace bar, River Shack, on Friday 14 June 2024. 

The new venue offers a delightful blend of refreshing cocktails from the classic mojito to the trendy Aperol Spritz, and the quintessentially British Pimm’s; along with tasty local food including carefully curated sharing boardsvegetable crudités and continental charcuterie; all under the warmth of twinkling string lights.

The Pennycress at Cotswold Lakes in South Cerney

Combining a love of fresh, local produce and speciality coffee with floral design expertise to create an experience for visitors that feeds the community for years to come, The Pennycress opens doors to its new garden cafe, at Cotswold Lakes. 

Open now, visitors can expect an assortment of breakfast buns, toasted sourdough, garden bowls, sausage rolls, delicious cakes from Project Cakery, speciality coffee, teas and flowers.

The Village Pub in Barnsley

With an ethos to celebrate the simple joys in life, The Village Pub in Barnsley reopened its doors on Friday 14 June 2024, offering a fresh look in line with its new owner, THE PIG.

Along with updated interiors, the new menu promises nostalgic classics using the freshest and most flavoursome ingredients such as jugged beef and carrot, alongside smoked haddock fish cake, bangers and mash with onion gravy as well as Godsell’s Double Gloucester and white bloomer Ploughman’s. And the wine list comprises English wine and local brewers are celebrated with ale from Stroud and Arkells as well as Severn Cider on tap.

After much speculation about what Cheltenham's historic Cavendish House would be turned into, following the announcement of the department store's closure in January 2024, the premises has been given a fresh lease of life as it opens a food court full of independent eateries this June 2024.

Packed with independent local traders, the new food court officially opened its doors on Wednesday 12 June 2024, presenting as an ideal spot for grabbing a quick breakfast, a working lunch or a post-shopping snack.
