Gloucester Guildhall is the home of live music and dance in Gloucester. The historic venue in the heart of the city plays host to incredible touring shows and artists as well as homegrown talent — and boasts spectacular period features including an original sprung dance floor in the main hall and an intimate 75-seat cinema.

There's an exciting programme of live events coming up at Gloucester Guildhall in 2025, spanning everything from hugely popular music festivals, relaxed summer concerts to brand-new shows from acclaimed comedians, performers and poets.

Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival at Gloucester Guildhall

Celebrating its 31st birthday in 2025, Europe's longest-running Cajun & Zydeco Festival returns to Gloucester Guildhall from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January 2025. Bringing the sound and spirit of Louisiana to the city, Cory McCauley and his Evangeline Aces headline the main stage, with The Po' Boys, Cajun Royals and The Cadillac Kings also on the bill.

Jim's Lounge takes over the cinema stage for a series of intimate talks and performances from the likes of Lady Nade, Dom Pipkin and the Iko's, The Longshore Drifters and more; there are dance and instrument workshops for all abilities to take part in; and to top it all off, there's authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine on offer all weekend long, too.

Heka by Gandini Juggling at Gloucester Guildhall

A night of juggling and magic awaits on Thursday 20 February 2025, when Heka by Gandini Juggling comes to Gloucester Guildhall. Named after the Egyptian goddess of magic, Heka promises to 'transport audiences into a mesmerising realm where reality blurs with illusion'.

Audiences will watch things vanish, materialise and levitate before their very eyes, with spectacular choreography that'll leave them wondering what's real and what's not.

Lemn Sissay at Gloucester Guildhall

BAFTA-winning author, poet and performer Lemn Sissay OBE brings his brand-new show, Let The Light Pour In, to Gloucester Guildhall on Thursday 27 February 2025, sharing poems from his Sunday Times bestselling book.

Every morning for the last 10 years, he's written four lines and shared them with the world on social media with no title and no explanation, before collecting the best of them for the book. He'll be reading his favourites, sharing the stories behind them and answering the audience's questions about them in this thought-provoking and joyful show.

Underground Festival at Gloucester Guildhall

Gloucester's multi-venue music event, Underground Festival, returns on Saturday 29 March 2025, bringing the hottest emerging artists and the biggest names in punk, emo, rock and acoustic music to the city — with previous headliners including George Ezra, Bastille, Lower Than Atlantis, Mallory Knox, Holding Absence, Frank Carter and As December Falls.

With stages at Gloucester Guildhall, Blackfriars Priory, Cafe Rene and new for next year, The Thirsty Pine, the 2025 event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Tickets are 'pay what you can' too, to keep live music accessible for everyone. 

Lil.Miss.Lady at Gloucester Guildhall

Taking audiences on an incredible journey through the history of Black-British bass music culture, Lil.Miss.Lady comes to Gloucester Guildhall on Saturday 31 May 2025.

From the early stages of jungle through UK garage, funky house, dubstep and grime, Lady Lykez shows what it takes for a female MC to make a name for herself in this male-dominated industry — inspired by the true stories of grime's most influential women like Lady Stush, Lioness, Queenie and Baby Blue.

The Moomins 80th anniversary at Gloucester Guildhall

Gloucester Guildhall is hosting the 80th anniversary of The Moomins, with a brand-new piece of artwork being revealed during Refugee Week in June 2025.

One of only four UK venues selected as part of the celebrations, artist Dana Olărescu is creating a piece to commemorate the publication of the first ever Moomins book, The Moomins and The Great Flood, which will be accompanied by a host of events celebrating inclusivity, togetherness and the contributions refugees make to our community.

A series of chilled summer sessions, Live at Llanthony brings big names in folk, roots and Americana to a stunning quayside setting within the grounds of Llanthony Secunda Priory from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July 2025.

Offering an intimate festival vibe at one of Gloucester's most historic sites, previous headliners have included Kate Rusby, The Staves, Billy Bragg, Seasick Steve, Frank Turner and Fisherman's Friends — with support from local artists, too. 

Sam Avery: Thunderstorm at Gloucester Guildhall

Back with an electrifying new show, award-winning comedian Sam Avery brings Thunderstorm to the Gloucester Guildhall stage on Saturday 8 November 2025.

Promising lightning-quick wit and thunderous laughs, Sam takes audiences on a whirlwind journey through the chaos of the modern world, from culture wars to conspiracy theories, in his signature punchy style.
