The summer holidays might be well underway, but there's plenty going on in Gloucestershire for businesspeople this August 2024.

August is a month that many businesses look forward to, with hardworking staff taking a week or two off to recharge and reset, ready for a busy start to September.

But there's still plenty of business events happening in Gloucestershire this summer — with the quieter month providing the ideal opportunity to attend networking sessions, coaching and knowledge-sharing workshops, ready to hit the ground running again after the holidays. 

Chamber Business Book Club in Cheltenham

A book club with a difference, ActionCOACH and the Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce host a lively debate on the latest non-fiction business releases on Friday 2 August 2024 from 12.30pm to 2pm at M&M Printing and Promotions on Royal Crescent in Cheltenham.

Connecting entrepreneurs, ambitious professionals and book lovers, this unique monthly event promises elevated networking, lively discussions and a deep dive into the themes and lessons from each month's selected book, over a hearty buffet lunch. Tickets cost £20 for chamber members and £30 for non-members, with lunch and a book included — see Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce's website for more details.

Netwalking for Creative Women in Business at Crickley Hill in Birdlip

Setting off from the picturesque Crickley Hill country park, Netwalking for Creative Women in Business is a monthly networking event designed to bring like-minded ladies together without the pressures of pitching and round-table discussions.

Taking place on Wednesday 7 August 2024 at 10am, the group meets outside the on-site cafe, with 45-minute walks varying each month, from flat to moderate inclines. Tickets cost £16.96 via Eventbrite, with all-day parking for £2 and a post-walk coffee and cake pitstop afterwards.

Property and Development Networking Event at Malmaison in Cheltenham

The Property and Development (PAD) Network hosts a monthly morning networking event, inviting expert guest speakers to provide valuable information sessions for Gloucestershire businesspeople working in the property and development sector.

This month it's all about commercial mortgages — get together over breakfast at Malmaison hotel from 9.30am on Thursday 8 August 2024 for expertise and insights into securing a mortgage and getting on to the commercial property ladder. Tickets cost £21 via Eventbrite and include breakfast, tea, coffee and juice.

Cotswold Networking August meet-up at No. 131 in Cheltenham

A new venue for the Cheltenham branch of the Cotswold Networking group, this in-person evening event invites business people to make connections over cocktails at the uber stylish No. 131 on the Promenade. 

This month's event takes place from 7pm to 9.30pm on Tuesday 13 August 2024. Tickets cost £30 for non-members and are available to book via Eventbrite. 

Tapas Tuesday in Gloucester

This month, WSP Solicitors is hosting its regular Tapas Tuesday lunchtime session at Sebz Tapas on Northgate Street in Gloucester from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday 20 August 2024.

The lunchtime event's special guest speaker is Sean Lynn, head coach of the Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) side and back-to-back champions, Gloucester-Hartpury, where he'll be sharing some insights from his incredible career. Latte Networking at FigFlex Offices in Gloucester

The Business Growth Network is known for its popular Latte Networking events, with its Gloucester catch-up happening at FigFlex Offices on Friday 23 August 2024 from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Members and guests spend the morning networking over a cup or two of freshly brewed coffee and some tasty pastries, with participants encouraged to exchange business cards, snap selfies, cultivate connections and chat about collabs with fellow local businesses. Tickets are free for Business Growth Network members and cost £20 for non-members — with coffee and pastries included. 

Women Mean Biz Stroud networking at Burleigh Court Hotel near Stroud

Offering new opportunities for female entrepreneurs to collaborate and build connections with other ambitious businesswomen from the Stroud area, this monthly event takes place at the beautiful Burleigh Court Hotel which overlooks the Golden Valley near Stroud.
