Four Guinness World Records were broken at the 2021 National Giant Vegetables Championship at the Malvern Autumn Show this September 2021.
Taking place at the Malvern Autumn Show each year, the CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship sees growers from all over the country descend on the Three Counties Showground, just over the border in Worcestershire, for the annual event.
With everything from giant pumpkins to 20-foot carrots, the hotly contested competition even includes a children’s category for biggest sunflower head, with the record-breaking veg proving a popular sight for adults and kids visiting the show.
The Guinness World Record-breaking vegetables from this year’s competition were Heaviest Marrow, weighing in at 116.4 kilograms – 22.7 kilograms heavier than the previous world record holder; Heaviest Aubergine weighing 3.12 kilograms – 60 grams heavier than the previous world record; Heaviest Broad Bean Pod weighing 106 grams; and Longest Leek measuring a whopping 1.36 metres.
