The Cheltenham Trust, custodians of the Grade I-listed Pittville Pump Room, is hosting a rare open evening at the venue this September 2024, offering everyone the chance to look round the historic building and find out which events can be celebrated there.
An iconic Cheltenham landmark with a rich 200-year history, Pittville Pump Room, with it's sweeping views of the idyllic Pittville Park, was the largest and last Regency spa building to be built in the town, opening in 1830.
The brainchild of Joseph Pitt — the prolific lawyer-turned-developer who planned much of town in the 1800s — his dream was to create a town called Pittville that would rival Cheltenham, with the Pump Room — as a place to bathe in spa waters — becoming the centrepiece of his new borough.
While Joseph's eponymous town was never realised, Pittville Pump Room became one of the most architecturally important and finest examples of Regency spa buildings in the country and is now one of the most picturesque and popular wedding and events venues in the Cotswolds.
Taking place from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday 26 September 2024, the exclusive showcase is free to attend and includes fizz and canapés on arrival, a tour of the venue and the chance to meet the events team to discover its venue hire packages and events programme.
The showcase will also launch the Pump Room's new Christmas events for this year, which include festive mistletoe lunches and Jingle Bells Banquet party nights; alongside the venue's offering for celebrations such as weddings, christenings and life-event parties; as well as concerts, conferences, craft markets and much more.
Places are limited so pre-booking is essential, with tickets available via Eventbrite. Search 'Cheltenham Trust venue showcase 2024' on Eventbrite for more details.
