Lace up the walking boots and prepare for a fitness challenge for a worthy cause this summer 2024, as Cheltenham's Three Peaks Challenge returns for another year of fundraising fun.
A 22-mile walk, this challenge will test participants physically and mentally, but is sure to inspire and exhilarate in equal measures — especially when taking in the breathtaking views at the top of each peak!
Raising vital funds for Aim Up, a Gloucestershire charity empowering adults with disabilities, complex needs and mental health conditions to live an enjoyable and fulfilling life, the participants are challenged with raising at least £50 for the jaunt — but all fundraising efforts are welcomed and applauded.
Kicking off at the Aim Up HQ at Well Close House at Lansdown Parade in Cheltenham on Saturday 8 June 2024, challengers will take on a revised route through the picturesque landscapes of Gloucestershire countryside and tackle the three tallest peaks in the county; Crickley Hill, Leckhampton Hill and Cleeve Hill.
Before taking on the finale of Cleeve Hill, walkers can enjoy a well-earned break with hot drinks and freshly baked treats from The Coffee Cube which will be stationed at the Lineover Woods checkpoint in Charlton Kings.
There will also be water refills and toilet facilities at each of the four checkpoints along the journey — plus, new for 2024, a bottle bar will be waiting at the finish line, stocked with both soft and alcoholic options to celebrate completing the challenge.
Unlike events from previous years, 2024 sees the introduction of staggered starts and those wishing to book their spot can choose a start time of 6.30am; 6.45am; 7am; 7.15am; 7.30am; 7.45am; 8am; or 8.15am — those wanting to run the course are advised to book the 6.30am slot.
Tickets cost £20.21 per adult and £10.46 per child, but please note that anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18-years-old.
