Cyclists can saddle up and pedal through the scenic Cotswold countryside to fundraise for Sue Ryder — the charity behind Gloucestershire's palliative care unit, Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice — this July 2024.
Returning for its 36th year on Sunday 7 July 2024, the Ride for Ryder event sees participants take on a charity challenge of their choice, cycling 40km, 60km, 90km, 130km or 160km through the Cotswolds.
With five route options suitable for seasoned cyclists and beginner riders alike, people of all abilities can pledge to Ride for Ryder this summer — whether you're an enthusiastic novice who wants to crank up the gears or an experience rider prepared to push yourself to cover mammoth distances.
All routes start and finish at Dean Close School in Cheltenham, taking in pretty Cotswold villages like Broadway and Guiting Power, with refreshment stops, water stations and picture-perfect views along the way.
Entrants will receive a finisher’s medal, plus those who raise over £145 in sponsorship will get a special Sue Ryder cycling jersey to wear on the day.
Thanks to support from event sponsor Cape Homes, all money raised from Ride to Ryder will go towards Sue Ryder, helping the charity to continue providing compassionate palliative care and bereavement support to make sure no one faces death or grief alone.
Registration is now open via sueryder.org/rideforryder and the charity is encouraging anyone interested in taking part to sign up.
