Meeting at Kingsholm Stadium as part of the Autumn International test match period, Jamie Joseph’s Brave Blossoms will take on Russia in what’s promises to be an exciting clash in Gloucester.
The international fixture will be getting crowds warmed up for the Rugby World Cup 2019, taking place on Saturday 24 November 2018 at Gloucester Rugby’s home stadium.
With Japan the host national for the Rugby World Cup, and set to face Russia in their opening game in the 2019 tournament, this autumn’s match offers the opportunity to witness the two teams in action, right here in Gloucestershire.
Speaking of the upcoming fixture, Gloucester Rugby’s chief executive, Stephen Vaughan, said: ‘We know that the Gloucester Rugby supporters love to welcome international teams to Kingsholm Stadium, and we are delighted to confirm that Japan and Russia will be both returning to play this November.
‘Here at Gloucester Rugby, we have a real appetite for hosting international rugby and with our game away at Exeter Chiefs that day it gave us the opportunity to host this really exciting fixture and for those that can’t make it to Sandy Park they can still get to see some first class Rugby at Kingsholm that day.’
