Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital runs regular virtual events free of charge and hosted by specialists in various different branches of medicine, with the theme for August 2022 being broken bones and recovery after trauma.
Starting at 7pm on Monday 15 August 2022, ‘Fractures, Broken Bones and Recovering from Injury’ will be led by orthopaedic trauma surgeon, Miss Jayne Ward, who has spent nearly eight years working in the second busiest major trauma centre in the UK.
As a specialist in trauma care, including broken bones and the ongoing problems these injuries can give rise to, Ward will cover the latest techniques used to fix bones, as well as complications from fractures and how to deal with them, too.
She will also talk about the psychological effects of being involved in an accident and new strategies for adjusting to life after an injury.
Allowing time for a live Q&A, participants are encouraged to specify when booking their free place for this interactive event if there are any particular injuries or broken bones that they would like covered.
Although free to attend and open to all, Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital’s upcoming session on ‘Fractures, Broken Bones and Recovering from Injury’ must be booked in advance by emailing tara.amos0@nuffieldhealth.com.
