Families and foodies will be flocking to Tewkesbury Abbey for a weekend of tasty treats, when the town’s Food and Drink Festival returns for another fun-filled weekend.
Taking place within the beautiful abbey grounds on Saturday 22 to Sunday 23 June 2019, the ever-popular summer event offers something for all tastes and ages, from local produce and refreshing tipples, to live music and children’s entertainment, with SoGlos picking out some highlights below.

Food and Drink
Boasting an enticing selection of more than 60 stalls, Tewkesbury Food and Drink Festival is a haven for foodies, offering a wide variety of tasty treats and local produce to ‘try and buy’. Visitors can browse everything from bakeries and meat to tempting cheeses and olives.
Meanwhile, visitors can look forward to plenty of tipples to sip on throughout the weekend, with local wine, beer and cider producers in attendance, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and soak up the atmosphere, with a drink in hand!
Cookery Theatre
If you’re hoping for some cookery inspiration, or looking to learn tips and tricks, the festival will welcome a host of local chefs and experts, who will be doing live demonstrations in the cookery theatre.
Saturday will welcome Food is Art’s Prudence Staite; Corse Lawn Hotel’s head chef Chris Monk; Poco Culina owner Andy Tibbs; and Great British Bake Off finalist Martha Collison.
On Sunday, there’s another chance to see Martha Collison, in addition to Hart’s Barn Cookery School owner Yvette Farrell; Tewkesbury Park Hotel’s Head Chef Anuj Thakur; and All About the Food owner and chef Steve Lyons.
Entertainment
Dedicated to keeping the whole family happy, there will be plenty of children’s entertainment during the weekend.
What’s more, visitors can look forward to performances on both days from multi-instrumentalist Poppy WS and singer-songwriter Tazmin Barnes, offering the perfect excuse for relaxing in the festival garden and soaking up the sounds.
