Escape to Westonbirt Arboretum for a summer of outdoor adventures, as the leading visitor attraction near Tetbury unveils its new family-friendly trail — running throughout the school summer holidays.
Encouraging families to engage with nature through play, the Green Games at Westonbirt trail features eight games they can play together, testing their memory, aim and imagination as they explore the Old Arboretum and Silk Wood.
Running from Wednesday 5 June to Wednesday 4 September 2024, this self-guided trail is suitable for children aged five and above — offering a safe environment for youngsters to discover the wonders of the natural world through outdoor play.
There's plenty of green space to throw a ball around, bushes to crawl under, muddy ground to stomp through and trees to climb, too.
The Green Games at Westonbirt trail follows an accessible route, with hard surfaces suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, prams and buggies.
Not to mention there's a whole programme of free family activity days, all themed around discovering nature, taking place at Westonbirt throughout the summer. Check out SoGlos's Gloucestershire summer holidays guide for more details.
