Families can discover a world of wetland wonders in the summer holidays, with an action-packed programme of daily activities taking place at Slimbridge Wetland Centre from Saturday 23 July to Sunday 4 September 2022.

Every day from 11am, curious kids can experience a habitats-themed science show in the Living Wetland Theatre, featuring activities like creating your own water filtration system.

Meanwhile, there'll be all kinds of engagement activities happening at Arctic Adventure from 11am to 12.30pm — with the chance to weigh and measure a swan, analyse poo samples and track the movement of various visiting birds as they explore the reserve, just like the experts do with birds in the wild.

Interact with the rarest goose in the world from 12pm, feeding lettuce to the nēnēs at Slimbridge's Hawaiian-themed exhibition, Mission Possible.

Over at the Pond Zone, kids can discover what lives beneath the surface, pond dipping for sticklebacks, bloodworms and dragonfly nymphs from 2pm to 3pm.

Round off your trip with a visit to Slimbridge's very own Wetlands Interactive Sandbox from 3.30pm to 4.15pm. Here, little ones can create their own landscapes with the iSandbox, which makes use of augmented reality to take a traditional sandpit to a whole new level.

Visitors can also enjoy Slimbridge's usual activities, from spotting wildlife from the water on the Canoe Safari to venturing out into the wider reserve on a 4X4 Wild Safari; as well as completing fun family challenges with the Wetland Heroes app, watching the bird demonstrations at the Living Wetland Theatre and cooling off with a splash about in Welly Boot Land.
