One of Gloucestershire's most popular historic attractions, Sudeley Castle and Gardens, is inviting visitors to test their nerves this Halloween 2024, with everything from ghost hunts to spooky family trails.
From Saturday 26 October until Sunday 3 November 2024, the bravest little souls can come face-to-face with mythical monsters and friendly characters along an interactive trail around the castle grounds — getting dressed up in their scariest costumes to party at the medieval monsters' ball and even uncovering the remains of a lost medieval village with archaeologists from Dig Ventures along the way.
From 3pm to 5pm on Sunday 27, Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 October 2024, travel back in time to a historical Halloween on a ghoulish garden trail full of special effects from Chase Lane Fireworks, as the light begins to fade.
Then for the most daring, there's a lantern-lit ghost hunt to meet the spirits and spectres that haunt Sudeley Castle and its grounds on Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 October 2024.
From 6.30pm, this bone-chilling tour takes in the site's most haunted spots and ancient ruins, introducing ghost hunters to some of its famous spectral residents, like the castle's strict Victorian housekeeper, the Lady in Green.
Tickets to these exclusive ghost tours cost £40 each and include a spiced mulled cider from the Coach House to calm the nerves after the tour — while the family Halloween trails are included in the price of general admission, along with access to the stunning castle and its fascinating Tudor history exhibitions, 10 award-winning gardens and epic adventure playground.
