Creative children and teenagers are invited to explore their artistic side at MAD ABOUT ART’s Easter art classes, taking place this April 2022.
From Monday 11 to Friday 15 April 2022 at JOLT Studios on Gloucester’s Kings Square, budding young artists can spend time learning from experienced industry professional, Maddi Staples – who has previously worked with Damien Hirst – getting insights into drawing and sculpting, as well contemporary fine art practises in conceptual, performance and installation art.
There are two courses taking place during the week, one suitable for seven to 11-year-olds and the other for 11 to 15-year-olds, where participants will enjoy a mix of taught lessons and freestyle time, focusing on contextualising the works they make within the framework of fine art history.
Classes will be mostly practical but will also refer to artists throughout history, including notable painters, film makers, digital artists and more, with the aim of inspiring and encouraging young artists.
The five-day course costs £140 per child, with a 25 per cent discount for siblings.
