Gloucestershire County Council Fostering is looking for people like you to find out what it takes to be a foster carer, via its online sessions this May 2024.

There’s no better time to look into fostering with Gloucestershire County Council than now — with one of its online information sessions taking place on Wednesday 1 May 2024.

The council is on a mission to find loving and nurturing foster homes in the area for local children of all ages, babies and toddlers included.

For anyone curious to find out what it takes to become a foster carer, its hour and a half long ‘introduction to fostering’ session will be live streamed online on Wednesday 1 May 2024 from 7pm.

Comprised of a presentation and a Q&A session, the Teams event will give Gloucestershire residents the chance to hear from an experienced foster carer, alongside members of the county council’s fostering team.

Find out about the different kinds of fostering, what you need to be able to foster, as well as the support and training on offer, if you decide to pursue it.

While participants are under no obligation to take the next steps until they are ready to, those with experience of looking after children could be eligible for fast-track assessments.

For more information, visit gloucestershire.gov.uk/fostering or email fostering@gloucestershire.gov.uk to request the Microsoft Teams link and joining information for the session directly.
