The illuminated tractors are back this Christmas, visiting villages around Gloucester on Sunday 15 December 2024.

Ever seen Santa's sleigh pulled by a tractor wrapped up in Christmas lights? A must-see spectacle for the festive season, the Gloucester Christmas Road Run is set to return for the fourth year in a row on Sunday 15 December 2024.

This popular community event sees the procession of festively lit and decorated tractors travel through Gloucester's surrounding villages, attracting excited locals to the roadside to wave them by.

Starting at Redmarley, outside The Rose and Crown at 4.30pm, the convoy moves through Staunton, Ashleworth, Hartpury, Maisemore and Longford, before reaching its final stop — St Oswalds — between approximately 7pm and 7.30pm.

Growing in popularity year by year, the Gloucester Christmas Road Run started with 20 tractors in 2021 — steadily increasing to a whopping 85 farm vehicles, all decked out for the festive season, in 2023.

While the number of tractors taking part in 2024 hasn't been confirmed, it's expected to follow this upward trend with an increase from last year, for what promises to be its 'best run yet'!

There'll be volunteers collecting donations for local charities, including the Pied Piper Appeal, along the route too, with the event helping to raise money for worthy causes this Christmas.

We're not short on Christmas tractor action in this part of the world, with the famous Banbury Christmas Tractor Run bringing its own illuminated fleet of farm vehicles to the Cotswolds a day earlier, too.
