Find out what life is like for a real explorer at Slimbridge Wetland Centre’s Global Adventurers event this summer.
Head to Base Camp at the South Lake discovery hut to collect your Global Adventurer passport, then leap across the world to find out what life is like for a real-life adventurer on the Arctic Russian Tundra.
Global Adventurers at Slimbridge Wetland Centre will take place from Sunday 13 July to Sunday 1 September 2019, when you can take on a range of Arctic Adventure activities.
From discovering what birds really eat with some poo analysis to measuring, weighing and recording a life-size swan replica, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. You can also get into character by dressing up as a researcher and working out which word is written in your Global Adventurers passport using the Russian Cyrillic alphabet.
Other fun attractions across the site include daily family friendly talks about greater flamingos and tropical amphibians, where you can learn about and even handle different species.
If that wasn’t enough, design your own folklore totem pole based on your own adventure story or try out pond dipping.
For an additional charge, you can also take part in a wetland canoe safari or discover the vast wetlands on 4×4 wild safaris.
