Everyone can experience a night at the opera at Berkeley Castle this spring, as Gloucestershire's beloved cultural attraction becomes a stage for Mozart's most famous opera, The Magic Flute.
Performed by a multi-talented virtuoso cast of seven singers, taking on multiple roles, this uplifting re-telling of Mozart's fantasy opera is brought to life by The Merry Opera Company.
The company brings accessible opera to venues across the UK, performed in a way that resonates with modern audiences — bringing thrilling drama, side-splitting comedy and sob-worthy story arcs to opera lovers old and new.
Coming to the castle for one night only on Saturday 23 March 2024, The Magic Flute tells the tale of a young man, who finds himself in a fantastical world of bird-men, monsters and mad scientists, among other colourful characters, and must use the power of music to rescue a princess — with unpredictable twists and turns along the way.
And with a setting like Berkeley Castle, guests can enjoy some grandeur, too, sipping fizz and sampling canapes in the long drawing room.
Tickets cost £65 per person, including fizz and canapes, and can be booked via berkeley-castle.com/the-magic-flute.
