Don't miss North by Northwest's slapstick choreography and a fabulous 50s soundtrack when it comes to Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre this June 2025.

Emma Rice's stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's cult classic North by Northwest is on its way to Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre this summer, delivering a gripping mistaken identity thriller.

On stage from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 June 2025, the production promises glamour, romance, jeopardy and a liberal sprinkling of tender truths...

Based on the Turner Entertainment Co. Film, North by Northwest, theatre legend Emma Rice takes on movie icon Alfred Hitchcock in this reworking, turning the original thriller on its head.

And with just six shape-shifting performers, slapstick choreography and a fabulous 50s soundtrack, this blazing production plays with the heart, mind and soul.

Audiences will watch as Roger Thornhill, reluctant hero of North by Northwest, makes a mistimed phone call to his mother, landing him smack bang in the middle of a Cold War conspiracy, forcing him into the world of espionage — whilst being pressured by enemies of the state.

On the run, he must dodge spies, airplanes and a femme fatale who might not be all she seems.
