Promising a show packed with hilarity, Nick Newman and Ian Hislop’s brand-new comedy play Spike is set
to take to Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre stage, in September 2022.
Audiences in Cheltenham will be transported back to the fifties from Tuesday
7 to Saturday 10 September 2022, as families across Britain race to their
radios to listen to the latest instalment of the BBC Home Services ‘The Goon
Show’.
Offering insight into the unique and satiric mind of Spike, the stage show
follows characters Harry Secombe and Peter Sellers as they attempt to hit the
big time – with their fellow Goon and leading man aggravating the BBC and
pushing the boundaries for entertainment.
But will Spike’s fascination with funniness be a hinderance, rather than
leading the group to success?
What’s more, guests will also have the special opportunity to take part in a
post-show Q&A with both Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, following the
performance on Wednesday 7 September 2022.
