The Open Bar Theatre Company is bringing a unique and modern take on the Shakespeare classic, Twelfth Night, to the picturesque Bay Tree Hotel in Burford this August, for the Shakespeare in the Garden event.
Taking place on Wednesday 16 August 2023, the outdoor theatre experience offers an excellent opportunity to take in a professional show with friends and family, surrounded by the blooming walled garden of the popular hotel.
Believed to have been written in the 17th century, the romantic comedy centres around a tangled love story as a shipwrecked woman disguises herself as a man and finds herself the object of another woman's affection. Confusion, delusion, mixed identities and love deepens throughout the story, all topped off with music and laughter.
The fully stocked bar within the hotel will be open all evening, so you can sip on your favourite tipple while enjoying the show; and a barbecue will be serving delicious grilled treats such as hot dogs and burgers to feast on, too.
The organisers advise arriving at The Bay Tree Hotel from 6pm to secure the best seats, with the show kicking off at 7.30pm.
