Forty years since its renowned UK cinema release, an imaginative performance of Saturday Night Fever is heading to Cheltenham, with music and dance galore and starring Richard Winsor from Casualty.
Whilst keeping its roots in the John Travolta classic from 1977, this bold new version at Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham brings drama, music and fierce new choreography to the stage.
The show – appearing at the Everyman Theatre from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 September 2019 – reveals the tale of Tony Manero, who flees the tough realities of working-class Brooklyn when he sets off on a reckless, yet exhilarating adventure, eventually leading him to conquest the world of dance.
The bestselling film soundtrack remains one of the greatest of all time, and features the Bee Gees’ top hits including ‘Stayin’ Alive’, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, ‘Night Fever’, ‘Tragedy’ and ‘More Than A Woman’, as well as ‘Boogie Shoes’, ‘Disco Inferno’ and plenty more.
