Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic comic operas, H.M.S. Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance, will be performed by Opera Anywhere this autumn, promising great day’s entertainment in Cheltenham.
Opera Anywhere will visit Parabola Arts Centre on Saturday 29 September 2018; audiences can look forward to sensational songs and a good dose of humour during the double bill.
The Pirates of Penzance starts at 3pm; the story follows Frederic who, after an unfortunate case of mishearing, is apprenticed to a pirate. With plenty of twists and a host of ingenious characters, the classic opera is sure to be a delight.
Meanwhile at 7.30pm, best-loved opera, H.M.S Pinafore will be performed, telling a tale of mismatched love across different social classes. Captain’s daughter Josephine falls for lowly sailor Ralph, but her father has different ideas; he has promised her to the First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Joseph Porter.
Perfect for opera fans and set to deliver an uplifting show in Cheltenham, Opera Anywhere’s shows are not to be missed.
