The 2019 tour of Green Day's American Idiot will be rocking the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, this summer.

Combining Green Day’s iconic rock tunes and a powerful storyline, American Idiot will be bursting into Cheltenham this summer, following two critically-acclaimed West End runs and a Broadway debut.

On stage at the Everyman Theatre from Tuesday 2 to Saturday 6 July 2019, organisers say the thrilling musical ‘has had Green Day fans in rapture’ and has ‘introduced a generation of theatregoers to their powerful and moving musical style’.

The show features the music of Green Day, the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and a rousing storyline about three childhood friends searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world, based on the book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer.

Everyman Theatre audiences can expect to soak-up performances of songs including ‘City of the Damned’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, ‘When It’s Time’, ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’, SoGlos favourite ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’, and the eponymous ‘American Idiot’.

Winner of two Tony Awards, American Idiot will be touring the UK starring Tom Milner, Sam Lavery and The X-Factor finalist Luke Friend, marking the show’s 10th anniversary and 15 years since the Grammy Award-winning original album was released too.

Please note, as it contains strong language and drug references, American Idiot is not suitable for under 14s.
