Running from Monday 26 May until Sunday 1 June 2025, Cheltenham Fringe Festival spans theatre, poetry, music, comedy and children's entertainment — hosted at the historic Cheltenham Playhouse, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year.
The eclectic line-up includes Once More, With Feeling — a musical tribute to Buffy The Vampire Slayer; New Beginnings — an emotional rollercoaster coming-of-age story; audience-led improv from Birmingham-based Box of Frogs; and a stellar line-up of up-and-coming comedians and rising stars curated by Playhouse regulars Howlers Comedy Club.
Children's and young people's entertainment includes 'improvised fun and frolics' from Box of Frogs, as well as a programme of free, bookable workshops on everything from Disney songs to a Wicked Workshop run by the Playhouse's resident theatre school, Theatre Studio.
While in the Playhouse's Green Room bar there are intimate shows from Forest of Dean collective, Oh Crumbs; The Gloucester Comedy Carful; and hot off his successful Edinburgh Fringe run in 2024, critically-acclaimed Kent comedian Jaz Mattu.
Tickets for main programme shows cost from £5 up to £22.50.
There are free poetry, film and music nights taking place in the Green Room Bar, featuring performances and screenings from local poets, filmmakers and musicians.
The community is also being encouraged to enter its attempt at a record-breaking sponsored 24-hour Monologue, lasting from 9am on Saturday 31 May until 9am on Sunday 1 June, where participants will perform 24 hours of monologues, duologues and poems on the Playhouse stage, to help it raise £80,000 in its 80th year.
