Direct from Broadway, see the acclaimed stage version of The Kite Runner when it comes to the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, from Tuesday 2 to Saturday 6 July 2024.

Based on the hard-hitting novel by Khaled Hosseini, adapted by Mathew Spangler and directed by Giles Croft, this haunting tale of friendship spans cultures and continents, following one man’s journey to confront his past and ultimately find redemption and ‘a way to be good again.'

The epic tale begins in 1970s Afghanistan, a country on the verge of war, where two best friends — Amir, a young man from a wealthy Pashtun family and his friendship with Hassan, who is a servant and a Hazara — are about to be torn apart, but no one can foresee the terrible incident that will change their lives forever.

What starts out as a beautiful afternoon in Kabul, with skies full of colour and the streets packed with excitement surrounding a kite flying tournament, soon takes a dramatic turn for the worst.
