Feuding fairies, rude mechanicals and, of course, a donkey are all coming to Berkeley Castle for a brand-new, open-air performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 August 2022.
Audiences will find themselves inside a world of magical mayhem, as the quarrelling queen and king of the fairy kingdom, Titania and Oberon, become entwined with the human world – causing chaos with some hilarious consequences.
Expect live music and a sprinkle of theatrical magic, as four young lovers find themselves entangled in the magical realm, with stunning set and costume design to bring Shakespeare’s comic fairy tale to life.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the second production from The Duke’s Theatre Company, following the group’s critically-acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, which wowed audiences at Berkeley Castle back in 2021.
Ticketholders are encouraged to bring their own camping chairs or blankets to sit on – not forgetting a picnic to enjoy during the show.
Tickets can be booked online via berkeley-castle.com/midsummer-nights-dream.
Please note, tickets do not include admission to Berkeley Castle.
