Fans of Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall trilogy can go behind-the-scenes of the acclaimed BBC TV adaptation, thanks to a new costume exhibition coming to Berkeley Castle — which was used as a filming location for the show.
Wolf Hall, which first aired in 2015, tells the story of Thomas Cromwell, a key player in King Henry VIII's court, with the anticipated second and final season hitting screens last year.
Both series feature scenes filmed at Berkeley Castle, with this limited time exhibition celebrating its involvement in the production by giving film and TV buffs a fascinating look behind-the-scenes — while treating history enthusiasts to an immersive Tudor experience.
Walk in the footsteps of Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis, who starred as Cromwell and Henry VIII, discovering filming locations from the show and the opulent attire of the Tudor court, with six exclusive Wolf Hall costumes worn by stars of the show on display.
There's also a stunning mural, painted specifically for the production, on display in the Morning Room.
Complementing the exhibition, Tudor Day brings Cromwell, King Henry and his six queens to life with living history actors roaming the castle grounds on Sunday 13 April 2025.
The Wolf Hall exhibition is included in the cost of admission to Berkeley Castle, available to visit from Sunday to Wednesday throughout April — including Good Friday 18 and Easter Saturday 19 April 2025.
