The Museum of Gloucester’s new exhibition, The Wonderful World of the Ladybird Book Artists, features an impressive collection of books, original artworks and memorabilia from the ‘golden era’ of the Ladybird books.
In her exclusive talks on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August 2021, exhibition curator and Ladybird enthusiast, Helen Day, will talk visitors through her collection – and share the stories of how she came upon some of the items.
Helen has spent over 20 years researching Ladybird and collecting items related to the company to amass the colourful collection that she has today. With memorabilia including Jane’s actual pram; original artwork from the Ladybird book artists; and a huge collection of original Ladybird books, literature lovers won’t want to miss this fascinating trip down memory lane.
Tickets for the Gallery Talk and Tour with Helen Day are available for a suggested donation of £5 to be made when booking, while tickets for In Conversation with Helen Day cost £5 per person. These events have strictly limited numbers and are not suitable for under 16s.
