Step back in time and explore the home of the WWT founder.

Offering a chance to see where it all began, Slimbridge Wetland Centre is opening up the home of its founder, Sir Peter Scott, on Saturday 14 September 2019, as part of Heritage Open Days 2019.

Step inside Scott House for a rare chance to see where Sir Peter Scott founded both the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Also used as a home for Sir Peter Scott and his wife Lady Scott, visitors can see his original drawings for the now hugely important organisations’ logos in his studio.

Scott House also overlooks the Rushy Lake and was a key area for Sir Peter’s Bewick swan research.
Also used as a family home, Scott House hosted many important guests in its dining room where they signed a visitor book, and today visitors can see the signature of Queen Elizabeth II.

Friendly guides will be on hand to show visitors around what promises to be a fascinating look inside the life of WWT’s founder.
