Play! House is a free interactive experience, transforming The Wilson in Cheltenham into an immersive theatre set for children to explore during the summer holidays.

Cheltenham's art gallery and museum, The Wilson, is hosting a summer holiday of theatre-themed fun, with the return of its free Play! exhibition.

Transforming the first-floor gallery into an immersive theatre set from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 8 September 2024, Play! House encourages children to dress up in costumes, create scenes out of props and background sets, make music with percussion and sound effects — and even steal the limelight with their own performance on stage!

Creating an inclusive space for youngsters to have fun and learn through play, this year's event builds on The Wilson's free Play! exhibition from last summer — with more in-depth themes to inspire co-operative play for 2024.

Kids get to engage with narratives from Cheltenham's social history that are relevant to The Wilson's own collections, too.

Play! House is a free drop-in event, available during The Wilson's opening hours from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 8 September 2024.

All ages are welcome, with the experience best suited to children from three to 14-years-old.
