Promising an afternoon of swashbuckling fun in the city, don’t miss the excuse to don your finest Jack Sparrow outfit when Gloucester Pirate Walk returns as part of Gloucester Shanty Festival this May.
Starting off from Café René at 2.30pm on Saturday 25 May 2019, landlubbers can don their captain’s hat and eye patch and join hordes of seafaring locals on a voyage across the city to Gloucester Cathedral, all to raise money for the Severn Area Rescue Association’s lifeboat station at Sharpness.
For an afternoon of nautical fun, pirates should keep an eye out for Jack Sparrow lookalike, Matt Harris and his bunch of scurvy dogs along the way.
A line-up of acclaimed musical acts will also be performing at Café René on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2019 as part of the Gloucester Shanty Festival, a three-day celebration of the city’s maritime heritage.
