Taking place from Sunday 5 until Wednesday 29 September 2021, guests will be able to explore King Edward II’s cell and the Keep Garden at Berkeley Castle.

Visitors on the tour will learn about the rich heritage and the infamous murder of one of our well-known kings, and the fascinating history behind the surrender of Berkely Castle in the Civil War.

The Keep is the oldest part of the Castle, completed in the late 12th century. It is unusual in that it surrounds the whole of the previous Castle’s mound, or motte, instead of being perched on top of it.
