An artistic tribute to the pioneers of Westgate Street is taking over the Lady Chapel at Gloucester Cathedral this April 2024.

Gloucester Cathedral is hosting an evocative art installation in its Lady Chapel this April 2024 — and it's free to visit.

The exhibition, called 'We Are Gathered Here', brings historical Gloucester residents back to life through a stylised congregation, which has been created by art students at Gloucestershire College, to celebrate the people who have lived, worked in and supported the Westgate Street area throughout its 1,000-year history.

Paying tribute to its important past as a pivotal location in the city and an important centre for trade and travel, the exhibition aims to celebrate the figures who have helped form the heritage of Westgate Street as we know it today.

The exhibition is free to attend with no booking required — visitors can stop by the Lady Chapel during Gloucester Cathedral's standard opening hours.
