Celebrating the opening of the Estuary Tower at WWT Slimbridge on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2019, visitors will be able to visit the attraction from new heights as well as enjoy duck decoy demonstrations, floodlit bird feeds, willow weaving workshops and more.
The fully accessible Estuary Tower offers views across Slimbridge. To mark its opening on Saturday 16 November 2019, Slimbridge’s ‘guide in the hide’ volunteers will be on hand to help visitors spot a wealth of wildlife across the reserve. As the light fades visitors can watch thousands of wild birds being fed by floodlight and can join naturalist Mike Dilger for an entertaining evening talk.
On Sunday 17 November 2019, naturalist Mary Colwell will be treating visitors to an insight into the endangered curlew bird. There will also be tours of the Scott House Museum on both days, where WWT founder, Sir Peter Scott started his conservation work.
