From sound baths and yoga sessions to family trails and craft sessions, Gloucester Cathedral has fun activities on every day during the school holidays.

With a series of serene activities on offer, Gloucester Cathedral is inviting visitors to 'embark on a journey of reflection' this summer 2024.

Starting from Friday 19 July and running until Friday 30 August, there's live acoustic music and street food out on Cathedral Green every Friday from 12pm until 4pm, providing a chilled spot to soak up some sunshine; while inside, the labyrinth returns from Friday 2 until Thursday 29 August, inviting visitors to take part in a 1,000-year-old tradition, meditating as they walk in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims on a replica of the labyrinth from Chartres Cathedral in France, which dates back to 1200.

There are two sunset sound bathing sessions on Friday 2 and Friday 16 August, with a soundtrack inspired by the cathedral featuring bells, birdsong and stonemasons working, with tickets costing £5 each; followed by free candlelit Taizé services on Friday 2, Tuesday 6, Friday 16 and Tuesday 20 August, offering simple, meditative worship inspired by the monks that lived at the cathedral 800 years ago.

There's also a series of yoga sessions taking place in the cathedral throughout summer, with adults-only morning yoga on Saturday 6, 13 and 20 July and Saturday 3, 10, 17 and 24 August, with tickets costing £10 each; and free yoga for all abilities sessions on Wednesday 17 and Wednesday 21 August.

Ideal for little ones, the free Wellbeing Olympics Family Trail is available from Saturday 20 July until Monday 2 September, with fun activities and challenges to try; then on Thursday 8 August there's free arts and crafts activities going on across the cathedral, with everything from mindful mandala making to crafting candle holders and brass rubbing.

Families can also join in with sound bathing and yoga, with family yoga sessions throughout the day on Thursday 1 and a family sound bath on Tuesday 20 August, both in the Chapter House.
