This year's free public Christmas lecture at Hartpury University in December 2024 is on the critically endangered Sulawesi crested black macaques.

An annual December tradition for the Gloucestershire institution, Hartpury University's Christmas lecture this year is on Sulawesi crested black macaques by the scientist who studies them.

On Thursday 5 December 2024, from 6.30pm until 9pm at the university, Professor Vicky Melfi will showcase her research on human-animal interactions and their impact on animal welfare, conservation and the planet.

This insightful evening will not only feature reflections from Vicky about her work with the charismatic Sulawesi macaques during her time at Drusillas Park zoo in Sussex, but will also explore the subject of how improving human-animal interactions could help save the planet.

Festive drinks and nibbles will also be on offer at this free event.

Be sure to book in advance as this popular lecture sells out fast. Book online via the university website.
