New Brewery Arts is hosting an engaging exhibition, Banner! 100 Years of Protest, featuring two collections of banners; those from The Women’s Library alongside contemporary pieces from the Protest Banner Lending Library.

Running from Saturday 11 August to Sunday 21 October 2018, the exhibition marks 100 years since the passing of the Representation of the People Act. With each banner having been made by hand, the collection is sure to offer a fascinating viewing experience.

Visitors can view original suffragist and contemporary political banners, during an exhibition which explores how campaigners have used banners to communicate their message.

There will also be a number of free banner making sessions during the exhibition. Suitable for adults and children over eight years old, visitors can simply turn up and enjoy getting creative!

The sessions take place on Tuesday 11 September 2018 from 10.30am to 1.30pm; Sunday 23 September 2018 from 12 to 4pm; Thursday 4 October 2018 from 10.30am to 1.30pm; and Saturday 20 October 2018 from 12 to 4pm.
