Learn how to use illogical thinking to influence people from TED Talk star Rory Sutherland's book this December 2024.

Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce is hosting a book discussion group on Friday 6 December 2024, taking a deep dive into bestselling business book Alchemy by vice chairman of award-winning advertising agency Ogilvy and TED Talk star, Rory Sutherland.

Counterintuitive to some, especially in the worlds of business and economics, Rory is an advocate of using behavioural science to influence people — focusing on ideas that don't make rational sense, but make you feel more than think.

Discussing his thought-provoking ideas on how illogical thinking can boost business, the event welcomes everyone, whether they've read the book or not — and will explore about how bypassing reason is the secret to influencing people's choices, with tips on how to use this powerful technique in business, marketing, public policy and more.

Sure to spark ideas and lively debate, tickets cost £8 each and also include lunch.

Spaces are limited and can be booked online via the Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce website.
