Gloucestershire Constabulary is welcoming business leaders from across the county to learn more about its Employer Supported Policing (ESP) scheme – and how it can benefit their staff and business, as well as the police force – at a special event this February 2023.
Stop by The Sabrina Centre at Gloucestershire Science and Technology Park on Wednesday 22 February 2023 to find out more about the scheme, which provides police officer training to staff in local businesses – offering tangible benefits for employers, their employees and the Constabulary alike.
By joining the ESP scheme, business leaders will allow their staff to be trained as volunteer police officers, giving them the authority to carry out patrols in their local areas with full police powers, once their training is complete.
Policing offers a level of staff development that can't be bought elsewhere. Employees will have the training and experience to expand their skills in the workplace, develop their confidence and aid their career progression; while employers benefit from improved staff morale and motivation, resulting in greater staff retention and lower recruitment costs.
Volunteer police officers play an important role in making local neighbourhoods a safer place to live and work so by supporting the ESP scheme, business leaders can fulfil their corporate social responsibility and give back to their local communities, too.
The event provides an opportunity to find out more about the scheme and how it can be tailored to suit a business's individual needs and requirements. With representatives from all over the Gloucestershire business community in attendance, it's also a fantastic networking opportunity – with complimentary refreshments on offer, too.
