In collaboration with Gloucester-based IT support firm, Westway IT, The Growth Hub Gloucestershire is hosting a business resilience workshop at its base in the University of Gloucestershire's Oxstalls campus on Friday 21 June 2024.
From 9.30am to 12.30pm, you will learn how to plan for risks, mitigate potential business disasters and make your company more resilient.
The workshop will take business owners through a 'fly-on-the-wall' scenario, from the disaster scenario to what they could have done better. The aim being for businesses to realise the often unseen risks in their IT infrastructure and to set them up with proactive planning and recovery.
Industry research has shown that 87 per cent of UK businesses are unprepared for cyber attacks and that it takes an average of 38 days to identify a breach and a further 43 days to recover from one.
During that time, businesses will usually experience downtime and a loss of earnings.
John Fisher of Westway IT said: 'With more businesses trading online and operating hybrid teams, how we handle our approach to technology has become more important than ever.
'To reduce our business risk level and maintain a happy and healthy business, owners must consider where risks come from, where their IT vulnerabilities are and how to mitigate risk. I want to provide simple but actionable support to build long-term resilience.'
The event starts with networking at 9.30am, with the workshop kicking off at 10am. Guest speaker Laura Wilkinson from Clear Insurance Management will talk about cyber resilience and cyber insurance from 11.30am.
