An immersive new light and sound show is coming to Tewkesbury, as the first ever Tewkesbury Festival of Lights takes place this autumn 2021.
Celebrating Tewkesbury Abbey turning 900 in October 2021 as well as the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Tewkesbury, the ancient abbey will come alive with a stunning light projection show from Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 November 2021.
The event promises to take visitors on a journey through the town’s history, highlighting key moments in Tewkesbury’s past through audio and visual displays.
Tewkesbury’s annual free fireworks display then takes place at The Pageant Meadow behind Tewkesbury Abbey on Saturday 6 November 2021 – with a fairground too.
Tewkesbury Festival of Lights 2021 is the first big light show in the town since the 1970s, with award-winning sound and light artists, Luxmuralis – whose light and sound installations have taken over the likes of Westminster Abbey and Chatsworth House – creating the show.
Tickets to Tewkesbury Festival of Light at Tewkesbury Abbey cost £10.50 per adult and £8.50 per child aged three to 17, with children under three able to attend for free. Tickets can be booked for 20-minute slots taking place between 6pm and 10pm each evening.
The fireworks display on Saturday 6 November 2021 is free to attend.
