Monday 12 April 2021 marks the start of stage two in the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, giving lots of local non-essential businesses the green light to finally reopen.
With many shops and services; outdoor drinking and dining venues; and some attractions able to reopen from Monday 12 April 2021, Cotswold District Council is welcoming visitors back to its high streets – reminding them to follow ‘hands, face, space’ if they visit.
From delving into the Roman history of Cirencester to treasure hunting at Moreton-in-Marsh’s weekly market, there’s lots to discover – plus the chance to support local and independent businesses as they open their doors once again.
In line with government guidance, Cotswold District Council is encouraging visitors to wash their hands frequently; wear a mask and avoid touching their face; and maintain social distancing as they explore the Cotswolds’ independent shopping scene, artisan eateries and picturesque pub gardens this spring.
People are also encouraged to continue spending time outside, where it’s easier to keep their distance from others and the fresh air makes it more difficult for Covid-19 to spread.
With endless countryside and outdoor family attractions, the Cotswolds is bursting with places for up to six people or two households to meet safely outdoors after visiting its high streets, too.
