Nature enthusiasts can start to wave goodbye to winter with the arrival of Painswick Rococo Garden’s famous snowdrops, bringing the first signs of spring to Gloucestershire this January and February 2024.
While it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when they’ll bloom, the resilient little flowers typically make an appearance in late January to early February — with the Rococo Garden opening daily to give locals the chance to wrap up warm and see them from Saturday 20 January to Thursday 29 February 2024.
The well-loved pleasure garden boasts one of the UK’s largest natural plantings of snowdrops, attracting visitors looking to get their flower fix every winter.
Sitting in a hidden valley, the scenic spot is home to 15 different varieties of the distinctive white flower — including the tall, honey-scented Galanthus ‘Atkinsii’, which is said to have been first discovered in Painswick back in the 1800s.
