Families staying at home due to the Coronavirus outbreak are being encouraged to write to residents at Lilian Faithfull Care homes.

Lilian Faithfull Care, a Gloucestershire charity with care homes across the county, is inviting families staying home due to social distancing advice to write letters to their residents – providing the perfect addition to any day of home schooling!

‘Postcards of Kindness’ was originally developed as a national initiative for schools, so children could write to elderly residents in care homes, but following school closures and government advice on social distancing, Lilian Faithfull Care are welcoming anyone to participate if they’re looking for something to do while they’re stuck at home.

Letters, drawings and postcards are all welcome from adults and children of all ages. Reading the letters will form part of the residents’ activity schedule, especially for those in nursing care or on bed rest.

All post can be sent care of the activity co-ordinator at any of Lilian Faithfull’s care homes and will be gratefully received by the elderly residents.
