Gloucester-based Cyber Security Associates and Cotswold-headquartered Core to Cloud are both in the running for the same top honour at the national Global Business Tech Awards 2022.
CSA, based in Quedgeley, and Cirencester-based Core to Cloud are shortlisted for the Cyber Security Company of the Year award at the annual industry event.
The Global Business Tech Awards recognise, reward, and celebrate all things technical within the business world and the Cyber Security Company of the Year category aims to single out the very best businesses in that sector.
Dave Woodfine, co-founder and managing director at CSA, said: ‘Being shortlisted for the award is testament to the growth that CSA has witnessed over the past year and the excellent service we provide our customers when they need it the most.’
Phil Howe, chief technology officer of Core to Cloud, said the firm was motivated by the recognition and looking forward to the virtual awards night on Thursday 5 May.
CSA was founded in 2013, has 28 staff, is looking to double its turnover in 2022 and aiming to reach a figure of £2.5 million by the end of March 2023.
Woodfine served for 20 years in the Royal Air Force as a senior engineering officer. Co-founder and technical director James Griffiths also had a distinguished career as an Army Royal Signals senior operator.
James Cunningham and Mark Liddle co-founded Core to Cloud in 2015 and now work with some of the world’s leading security vendors including Cylera, Vectra and Pentera.
The last 12 months have seen rapid growth for their business. Turnover for its last financial year ending September 2021 was £4.9 million, with year-to-date turnover for 2022 already £5.8 million.
Year-on-year the Core to Cloud team has doubled its staff numbers (it now employs more than 20), increased sales by 100 per cent and it now supports more than 150 enterprises, SMEs and healthcare providers in keeping medical IoT (Internet of things) devices and cloud-based services secure and safe.
The company protects more than 50 NHS Trusts.
