There has been plenty of change in Gloucestershire’s senior appointments during May 2021.
Jonathan White – Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire
Jonathan White, from Quattro Design Architects, has been appointed as the new chairman of Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire Club.
Recognised as one of the most active regions, the group was formed over 17 years ago and counts itself as ‘an illustrious and respected platform for industry improvement’.
Ultimately, it exists to help all involved continue to deliver excellence for clients, for their industry and all other users through collaborative working.
Mr White’s appointment continues the long association between Quattro Design Architects and CE Glos and follows in the footsteps of our previous Quattro Director, Robin Copeland, who has also acted as its chaiman.
Rachel James – Fairview Financial
Rachel James has joined the ranks of Cheltenham-headquartered mortgage experts Fairview Financial.
Claudia Duman, from the firm, said: ‘Her experience in the financial sector, her knowledge of the mortgage market and her passion to always deliver the best service to her clients are just some of the qualities that make her the fantastic adviser she is.’
Moreton Cullimore – Road Haulage Association
Moreton Cullimore, the managing director of Gloucestershire-based Cullimore Group, has become the youngest ever chairman of the national Road Haulage Association.
The 41-year-old called the new title ‘a privilege’ and thanks his predecessor, Ashley McCulla for ‘his work, support and advice’.
Mr Cullimore was previously the chair of the RHA’s Midlands, Western, and Wales regional council and been an outspoken voice of the issues facing hauliers within the region.
Moreton Cullimore, who follows in the footsteps of his father, Roger, on the RHA national board, was named chairperson at the association’s AGM on 27 May.
Katie Caldicot, Ashley Pocock, Kim Davies and Tanya Atkinson – Bruton Knowles
Property experts Bruton Knowles continues to state its intentions loud and clear with a series of appointments – and more to come if its recruitment drive goes to plan.
Katie Caldicot (pictured bottom left), joins as a land rights technician within its national utilities and infrastructure (U&I) team. She will work with the team across a range of high-profile projects, including negotiating access to survey licences on National Grid’s major Bramford to Twinstead project.
Also joining the U&I team is Ashley Pocock (pictured top right), as an administrative assistant, and Kim Davies (pictured top left) also joins the Olympus House office at Quedgeley to play a vital role in its day-to-day management.
With 10 years experience in the property industry, Tanya Atkinson (pictured bottom right) joins the firm as a core valuer, involving commercial and residential properties.
Bruton Knowles also has roles available including graduate trainee positions, roles as land professionals, building surveyors and valuation surveyors, across its nationwide office network.
Daniel Hopkins – Perry Bishop
Daniel Hopkins, joined Gloucestershire estate agents Perry Bishop as associate partner to head up the sales and valuations for the Bishops Cleeve and Winchcombe areas – part of the firm's on-going expansion.
A ‘highly experienced estate agent’ with a thorough knowledge of Cheltenham and the surrounding area, he has been working in the area for more than 16 years.
Gavin Wallace, director of the firm’s Cheltenham office, described Mr Hopkins as ‘a wonderful addition to the team’.
Barry Bodin-Jones – Vitruvius
Those familiar with the faces making local enterprise partnership GFirst LEP the success it has been for the last few years will know the name Barry Bodin-Jones.
He has been a business manager within the Oxstalls-headquartered operation since 2016, but now moves on to join a key player in the construction sector in Gloucestershire and beyond – Vitruvius Management Services.
Mark Price’s business is currently spinning the plates at the centre of major projects at the likes of Hartpury University and College and Gloucestershire Airport.
Liz Waltham – OPS-BOX
Continued business growth has driven the appointment Liz Waltham as head of sales operations at Gloucestershire’s OPS-BOX Group.
The firm specialises in affordable expert advice, guidance, and practical support for all sizes of business, as well as providing access to the right commercial finance.
Ms Waltham joins OPS-BOX with more than 20 years’ experience across a range of industry sectors.
Hayley Parker, co-founder and director, said the new appointment would allow the business to continue to grow and support more and more county firms.
Andy Hadley – Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I
Major Forest of Dean employer and supplier of untold quantities of Ribena and other soft drinks nationwide, Suntory Beverage has appointed Andy Hadley.
He will oversee its supply chain operations across Great Britain and Ireland and join the executive committees overseeing the production and supply of more than 200 different drinks belonging to some of the UK’s best-loved brands.
The firm employs 330 staff at its Coleford bottle plant.
Steve Slater – Cheltenham Borough Homes
Steve Slater has been appointed as CEO of Cheltenham Borough Homes (CBH).
Mr Slater took up the role as interim CEO in August 2020, following the departure of the former CEO Paul Stephenson, and since joining the business in 2012 has held the position of executive director of finance and resources.
During his time as interim he has led the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sam Summers, Charlotte Spafford, Jade Padam and Daisy Sawyer – 10Yetis
A brace of appointments has already taken place at well-known Gloucester headquartered public relations firm, 10Yetis.
Sam Summers, who has worked for the agency for seven and a half years, has stepped into the role of head of PR.
The agency has more than doubled the size of its social media team, including the recruitment of senior social media account manager, Charlotte Spafford, who joined from Bath Rugby.
10 Yetis also plans to recruit on the PR and design side of the business in the coming months, as the client portfolio grows weekly.
Daisy Sawyer, formerly GoCo Group and Seeker Digital, is joining as a PR account manager to support the growing client base; whilst Jade Padam, formerly media and pr support officer at the University of Gloucestershire joins as senior PR account executive.
James Ramsay – Blackfinch
Investment specialist Blackfinch has appointed James Ramsay as director of strategic partnerships and the city.
With more than 12 years’ experience in the specialist market space, Mr Ramsay joins Gloucester-headquartered Blackfinch from Kuber, where he oversaw the implementation of the new adviser support initiatives.
Previous experience has seen him work such names as Barclays Wealth, Brewin Dolphin, St James’s Place, Tilney Smith & Williamson, and ‘many of the other private banks, wealth managers, networks and nationals’.
Claire Bourne – Cynam
If you are familiar with CyNam you will already know the name Clare Bourne – as she has been with the Cheltenham-based team for more than a year.
The organisation credits Ms Bourne with being ‘the driving force behind much of what we have achieved’, which involves promoting cyber, getting businesses talking, and championing the county. As a result of which it has now taken her on full time.
CyNam is currently preparing to host CyNam 21.2 Smart Cyber: Securing the IoT and the cities of the future – its summer event in partnership with the Cheltenham Science Festivals.
Chris Dunning-Walton – Sentients
One of the face’s of Cheltenham cyber movement, CyNam, Mr Dunning-Walton revealed his part in a new venture – Sentients.
The cyber executive search business has actually been running its services through the business Mr Dunning-Walton is usually associated with, InfoSec People Ltd, for the past five years.
The newly underlined service will work ‘symbiotically alongside InfoSec People which continues to go from strength to strength as the leading cyber contingency recruitment business’.
Hannah Reason – Hazlewoods
Hannah Reason is no stranger to those at Hazlewoods having been with the Staverton-headquartered accountants since October 2019. She has become the firm’s new manager.
Tom Clarke – Securitas UK
Tom Clarke has been appointed head up sales and marketing for the specialist electronic security division of Securitas UK in Gloucester – formally the Allcooper Group.
Other appointments in Gloucestershire
Gloucester-based G-Tekt has appointed Yoshitaka Suzuki as a director with Mitsuo Ishikawa moving on from the board.
Councillor Andrew Reece was invested as Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough at a council meeting streamed online on Tuesday, 4 May 2021.
And Christopher Nelson was elected Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire, replacing the long-serving Martin Surle, who served from 2012 until the recent elections.
